RIVERDALE, NY – Manhattan College swept the first Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Track Performer of the Week selections for the outdoor season, with the men’s honor going to Fabian Mueller (Amtzell, Germany) and Jasmine Davis (Ronkonkoma, NY) being recognized on the women’s side.  Mueller qualified for the IC4A Championships in two different events, while Davis won the 400 meters at the Dennis Craddock Carolina Relays.

Mueller, who sat out the indoor campaign, took second in both the 100 and 200 meters in his first competition of the year.  He posted a time of 21.92 seconds in the 200 on Friday night, then registered a 10.88-second clocking in the 100 on Saturday.  Mueller also ran in the 4x100 meter relay, helping the Jaspers take third in 42.79 seconds.

Davis, meanwhile, led a 1-3 finish in the women’s 400 on Saturday.  Her time of 58.49 seconds was good enough to qualify for the ECAC Championships.

This is the second career MAAC weekly honor for Davis.  She was previously recognized on Dec. 8, 2015.  Mueller was named MAAC Performer of the Week for the first time.

The Jaspers return to action this weekend at the Monmouth Season Opener.  The two-day competition gets underway with the hammer throw, discus and javelin on Friday, with the remaining events scheduled for Saturday.
